Many Stores Will Stay Closed this Thanksgiving

For the last few years, there was a trend where retailers seemed to open earlier and earlier on Black Friday. Some opened so much earlier that their Black Friday sales began on Thanksgiving Thursday!

For anyone who works in retail, this means less time with their families celebrating Thanksgiving and enjoying the holiday meal. As someone who loves to shop, I am always looking for an incredible deal. But even I will not support stores being open on Thanksgiving. Is nothing sacred anymore?

Yesterday, a report came out that fewer consumers were participating in going out shopping on Black Friday or Thursday because they felt that the same discounts were offered year-round or that they could find the lowest prices online. It seems that retailers are scaling back this year and more are announcing they will be closed on Thanksgiving.
