The Morgan Freeman possible scandal is heating up! Last week, CNN published a story that 8 women had come forward with allegations that the actor had acted inappropriately with them and sexually harassed them on the sets of various movies.

The women's accusations ranged from comments about their bodies to even an instance where Freeman allegedly tried to lift up one woman's skirt.

Freeman's lawyer, Robert M. Schwartz, issued a letter to CNN asking them to retract the story and threatened them with a lawsuit. The ten-page letter was sent to CNN's president Jeff Zucker. Freeman and his lawyer feel that last week's story defamed the actor and has caused serious injury to his reputation and career.

A Defamation suit is definitely something any journalist or new agency does not want to have to encounter.

Basically, the letter disputes the claims against Freeman and also questions the credibility of the women making the reports. CNN is not afraid of some ten-page letter and the threats of being sued because they issued this statement. "The unfounded accusations made by Mr. Freeman’s lawyer are disappointing and are difficult to reconcile with Mr. Freeman’s own public statements in the aftermath of the story. CNN stands by its reporting and will respond forcefully to any attempt by Mr. Freeman or his representatives to intimidate us from covering this important public issue."

We will have to see how this all plays out.
