Need A Reason To Call Your Mom?

November 13, 2017

Sometimes we get so busy with work, running around, and life that we forget to call those we love as much as we should. If you haven't talked to your mother in a hot minute, I am here to remind you to call her today. And I think perhaps this story may encourage you to call her as much as possible.

My mother passed away when I was 11, but I consider both my aunt and grandmother my mother figures. I try to call them every single day. Life is short and you never know when you will lose someone.

So why should you call your mom today and as much as possible? The University of California San Francisco did a study and found that when the elderly feel lonely they tend to not live as long. Did you know that people that reported being lonely were 26 percent more likely to have died than those who did not?

So what does this all mean? If you have elderly parents or family members, call them. Spend time with them. Make sure you give them companionship because they will be more likely to live longer. Perhaps this is why we are always hearing of couples married for 70 years passing away hours apart from one another.
