People Are Using Dead Bugs as Nail Art

Who comes up with these trends?

August 23, 2017

I have another odd beauty trend for you. This one involves creative nail art. In case you haven't noticed people are going all out with their nails now. More and more people are opting to have acrylic extensions put on to get more length.

And I jumped on that bandwagon again last week. In high school and my mid-twenties, I was all about having fake nails. Now I rarely ever have my nails painted because I feel like they chip if the wind blows. You can see my sassy nails below.

They are super short so I can still function and do my makeup! But nail art is getting pretty crazy. I've seen nails with succulent plants on them.

Those were pretty insane and oh so beautiful at the same time. But this new trend is gross. One nail artist has decided to use dead bugs and their parts to decorate her client's nails. Check out some of Nicole Casati's work below.

The ones using the butterfly wings are pretty awesome, I must say. Maybe those nails are convincing me that this trend isn't so bad after all?

You lost me at dead lady bugs. Bugs have a certain smell to them. I just don't think it's very sanitary! What do you think of this new nail trend?
