Start Your Sunday Fun-day With A Boozy Brunch

Bring on the Mimosas, Baby!

July 25, 2017

I am obsessed with brunch. It's the best meal, and in my opinion, it should be served 7-days a week! If you want something that fits more into the breakfast category, you can have it. Or if you're more feeling a lunch item like a burger, you can have that as well. Brunch is the BEST invention ever!

Sunday Brunch in the Queen City just got a lot better!

Yesterday, Charlotte City Council, unanimaously passed the brunch bill. Now restaurants will be able to start serving alcohol at 10am on Sundays. Before, you'd have to wait until noon to get a Bloody Mary. Honestly, this is a win-win for Charlotte's economy. Booze equals more money spent at local establishments.

So in honor of the bill passing, I've come up with a list of some of the best brunch spots in Charlotte that offer fantastic food and some crazy drinks.

Other cities in North Carolina began serving alcohol at 10 am on Sunday earlier this month including Davidson and Huntersville, in the Charlotte area.

1. Moo & Brew: I went here for the first time last week for lunch and was blown away by the food. The Jive Turkey burger I had may be one of the top three I have ever had in Charlotte. And don't even get me started about their rosemary, truffle & sea salt fries. I am drooling just thinking about them. Moo & Brew doesn't open until 11 am on Sunday, but it's worth the extra hour wait to have their Large Marge Bloody Mary!

Yaaaaassss! Sunday brunch is ON! Large Marge, Moo-Mosas and all your favorite brews now available at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday just in time for Panthers season! See you Sunday. ---------- ------#incaseyoumissedit #cltbrunch #goodtimes

2. Terrace Cafe: This has been one of my favorite Charlotte brunch spots pretty much since I first moved here nearly eight years ago. They have a giant red velvet waffle with cream cheese drizzle that's super yummy. And apparently, I need to go back because just taking a peek at their menu I am seeing like five new dishes I am dying to try.

3. Babalu Tapas & Tacos: I finally had a chance to visit the East Blvd. restaurant after driving past it so many times and putting it on my list a few weeks ago. Wow!! They have something on their menu called Torrijas which is their version of french toast that will cure any sweet tooth craving. They also offer their regular menu during Sunday brunch. I'd highly recommend the table side guac made to order. Also, I had the Yellowfin Tune Ceviche. Again, so refreshing and perfect for these hot Summer days. They have a seasonal watermelon margarita on the menu too!

4. Famous Toastery: They have quite a few locations throughout Charlotte and the surrounding areas so finding a Famous Toastery is pretty easy. I've tried quite a few dishes here, but my favorite is their stuffed french toast! They have a bloody mary-tini that is the best of both world's!

Cheers to Sunday Brunch starting earlier this weekend! Just don't forget you have to work on Monday!
