Walmart Amping Up Holiday Shopping

November 1, 2017

Now that November is here get ready for all of the Holiday madness to begin! I didn't watch TV this morning but would guess there are already Christmas commercials airing. I know the Hallmark Channel started their Christmas movies this past weekend. If you head to department stores and shopping malls you are sure to see holiday decorations going up too.

This year consumers are expected to stay home on Black Friday because they can get the same deals online without the crazy lines. Walmart is getting creative to help their Holiday numbers increase this year.

So what's their big plan to make shopping more fun this year? They're planning to hold 20,000 in-store parties throughout the season. The first one is set to take place this Saturday and will highlight some of this year's biggest toys.

They are calling this new shopping experience "Rock this Christmas." There will be three types of parties Toys that Rock, Parties that Rock, and Gifts that Rock.

The first Toys that Rock party will take place at participating stores this weekend.

And the big retailer is also hiring more holiday help to make sure customers get the help they need and lines are shorter at checkout.
