Not heading out to a Halloween party or trick or treating tonight? Here's a simple way to chill and burn calories all at the same time.

If you aren't into watching something that's going to give you nightmares, this new study may sway your opinion a bit. Research done at Westminster University found that watching scary movies can actually be good for your health. How? You'd think that with the anxiety and elevated heart rate that they'd be bad for you, but that's not the case.

Watching 90 minutes of a movie that gets your adrenaline pumping can burn about 113 calories on average, and that's about the same as taking a 30-minute walk. The scarier the movie, the more calories burned.

Here are the Top 3 Calorie Burning Horror Movies:

1. The Shining at 184 calories.

2. Jaws, the original, at 161 calories.

3. The Exorcist at 158 calories.

If you need me this weekend, I will be having a horror movie binge session aka burning all the calories on the couch! Get some more movies that topped the calories burning list here.
