Wine Review, Which one is for You?

February 3, 2017

We've been down to Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort & Offshore Island to test out the waters before we send you here for your own Luxury Included Vacation.

Sandals Resorts has partnered with Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks Wine to make sure you always have the perfect wine for every meal. The best part is you don't have to travel all the way to paradise for these wines, you can try them at home! Robert Mondavi Twin Oaks Wine is available in the states and here is what we got to test.

Let's start with the Red's:

Cabenet Sauvignon

This was their heaviest wine. It's was the type of wine where you can just imagine enjoying a glass by the fire, snuggled up to the one that you love, enjoying a break after a hard days work. You will want to pair it with pork or steak, heavier meals. While this isn't the glass you would go for first on a hot day it is absolutely perfect for the fall or winter. It is a bit of a stronger wine so you will want to take it slow when enjoying it's flavor.

This Merlot is a half blooded wine. The smooth flavor goes deliciously with steak or beef. This wine would be great for treating someone( or yourself!) to a homecooked dinner with a Netflix marathon waiting in the wings. The flavor blends perfectly with red meats and brings out the flavor. It's even great for cooking!

Shiraz was one of our favorites. When you have a sip of the Shiraz it feels like having a sip of a cloud. This is the lightest of the red wines and one of Twin Oak newer wines. It's a girls night wine. Grab a bottle and your besties for a fun wine and dine experience where you can catch up on all the juicy stories. Pair it with seafood, ham or even just veggies to enhance the flavor.

Moving onto those light wines we all love, here are three of Robert Mondavi's Twin Oaks White Wines.

This was Kelly's favorite to taste. It's a dryer white wine but absolutely perfect for a summer day. It's great for us southerners because this is your BBQ wine. It pairs perfectly with pork and is even great with venison. Enjoy this white wine at the next neighborhood BBQ.

Pinot Grigio

For those with a sweet tooth, this is the wine to try. This was a light and smooth wine but sweet like candied grapes. Pinot Grigio is the wine you have when your having spicy foods or maybe your favorite Thai dish. It pairs perfectly with quite a few different dishes, from seafood to pasta. It's a sweet treat that will dance across your taste buds.

Sauvignon Blanc

For those new to wine this is the one to try. It's a semi-sweet wine that doesn't bite but does have a light, lingering aftertaste. Their Sauvignon Blanc is a middle of the road wine that can be your go to for any situation. Try it with Fish, Chicken or Curry to bring out a new flavor for your favorite dishes.

So what is your go to wine? Which one would you try?

You can try all of them for free when you win your Luxury Included trip to Sandals Royal Bahamian. Register now right here!
