Kendall Jenner's New Pepsi Ad Called Is Being Called Insensitive and Delusional
By: Ebony Williams
UPDATE (4/5/17):
Pepsi has pulled the original ad featuring Kylie Jenner that was released earlier this week.
"Pepsi was trying to project a global message of unity, peace and understanding. Clearly we missed the mark, and we apologize. We did not intend to make light of any serious issue. We are removing the content and halting any further rollout. We also apologize for putting Kendall Jenner in this position," Pepsi said in a statement on Wednesday.
ORIGINAL STORY:
Kendall Jenner signing on as Pepsi's new spokeswoman might be a good idea, right? It may be a good idea for money purposes, but it's not a good idea for solving the world's problems probably.
In the new Pepsi advertisement released Tuesday, Jenner is working on a photo shoot when she notices a protest is making its way down the street. By the end of the ad, Jenner is able to bring a confrontation between the protesters and the police to a peaceful resolution by using a can of Pepsi.
The video has already caused an uproar online with many saying it marginalized the experiences of real protesters across the country.
Check out some of the tweets. What do you think?
The Kendall Jenner Pepsi fiasco is a perfect example of what happens when there's no black people in the room when decisions are being made.

can't believe Kendall Jenner just solved institutionalized racism and oppression by giving a cop a pepsi. Groundbreaking

Could you be any more blatant with the disrespect and appropriation of a movement, @pepsi? Is this a sick joke?! pic.twitter.com/8NS8ynJUdj
