2.6 Magnitude Earthquake hits Archdale, Impact Felt In Guilford And Randolph Counties

If you felt some trembling or heard a loud sound during the middle of the night, it might’ve been the earthquake that struck here in North Carolina.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed that a 2.6 magnitude earthquake hit near Archdale around 12:32am.

Folks in Guilford and Randolph counties reported feeling and hearing the effects of the earthquake overnight. According to USGS’ intensity map, effects were felt as far east as Raleigh and as far west as Statesville and Charlotte.
