There's no doubt about it, the holiday season can get pretty hectic at home, especially with busy schedules, colder weather, and of course, all of those holiday decorations. Fortunately our very own dog training and behavioral expert, Erin Askeland, shares her top tips to keep your pet out of mischief and safe from any potential hazards.

See the world through their eyes. Get down on their level and have a look around. Those pretty decorative pumpkins, berries or pine cones, for example, are sure to catch your pet's eye if they catch yours.

Keep candles up high. Fido's feisty tail can easily knock over that holiday candle and cause a house fire, completely by accident. Avoid damage and injury by keeping lit candles well out of your pet's reach.

Dedicate a pet-friendly space. Provide Fido a safe place to get away from all the action. Perhaps a comfy crate or a separate room where visitors aren't mingling. It's also important to remind guests not to overwhelm your pup, especially if he or she is already showing signs of stress.
