Event Description:

Since 2010, Charlotte Mechanical has helped more than its customers stay warm during the cold season months. What started 10 years ago as a small donation of coats from owners Steve and Nancy McLaughlin and their friends, has now become the company’s largest community event. Through the love, generosity and help of special partnerships, the Coat Drive continues to grow each year. Their goal is to collect 6,000 coats for the Salvation Army this year!

They invite you to help keep Charlotte warm during Zip Up Day on November 13th from 7-4pm at Dilworth Neighborhood Grille! There will be free Chick-Fil-A breakfast and lunch provided by Dillworth Neighborhood Grille, while supplies last. PLUS, there will be local sports mascot appearances, music all day from Carolina DJ Professionals, and more! Whether you plan on cleaning out your closet or buying new coats when the campaign kicks off, or want to wait to drop off men's, women's or children's coats, all are welcome to join for some fun!

NOTE: This year we'll also offer a contact-free drive-through. Stay in your car and just pop your trunk.

Visit HERE to find a location near you. There are 50+ locations this year where you can drop a new or gently/used coat.

If you are interested in becoming a barrel partner for our 10th annual Coat Drive in 2020, please email coatdrive@charlottemechanical.com.

A huge, warm thank you to the Charlotte community and the 2019 Barrel Partners throughout the Greater Charlotte area that helped collect a record-breaking number of coats (5,174 to be exact) last year!
